Apple not including their major OS boxes from stores?

After the release of the latest OS of Apple, OS X Lion, they decided not to include their major OS to boxes from stores.  The OS will be downloaded via the Mac App Store.

Apple revealed that they are discontinuing the boxed versions for several applications including OS X Snow Leopard, iLife, iWork, and Aperture. Starting today, these software titles can only be purchased online via the Mac App Store.

But meanwhile,Logic Express and Logic Studio software titles will continue to have boxed versions, GarageBand Jam and Mac Box Set will be discontinued in all channels, meaning they’ll be faced-out even from the Mac App Store.

Apple release a notice that effective July 20, 2011 the following software products are end of Life(EOL)for Resellers and Apple Retail Stores.

1. Mac OS Snow Leopard
2. Mac OS Snow Leopard Server
3. iLife
4. iWork
5. Aperture
6. Apple Remote Desktop
7. Xsan
8. GarageBand Jam Packs
9. Mac Box Set

List products are available only at Apple Online Store, except for GarageBand Jam Packs and Mac Box Set that not available for all channels.

Extend Display

Steps:

  1. It is necessary to have a PCI Express card.
  2. Connect two monitors or other a DLP Projector.
  3. Go to Video Graphics Adapter settings or simply go to screen resolution(windows 7).
  4. Extend the primary monitor to the other monitor.
  5. Then, click apply and OK.

Making Three (3) Multiple Display


Steps:
1.       Prepare three (3) monitors, LCD monitor is recommended.
2.       Make sure that you have an on-board video card and a PCI-Express Video card that has a DVI and VGA port.
3.       Connect all 3 monitors to:
·         On-board Video adapter
·         PCI-Express-DVI Port
·         PCI-Express-VGA Port
4.       Turn on your computer and press a key that will go to the BIOS set up.
5.       On BIOS set up, find the video adapter settings and make the on-board video card as primary video adapter.
6.       Press F10 to save your settings.

Patch Tuesday July 2011: 4 Updates Correcting 22 Issues,Tuesday July 12, 2011

Happy Patch Tuesday! This month's patches consist of four updates but they correct 22 issues. Most of these fixes apply to various versions of Microsoft Windows but one of the updates is for Microsoft Visio 2003.
Many of these issues could allow a remote attacker to take complete control of your system. The attacker could then perform tasks on your computer like viewing, changing, and deleting information.
What these updates do:
These patches from Microsoft update several individual files involved in making Windows or Visio work.
These updates may apply to you if: you're running Windows 7, Vista, XP, and various Windows Server operating systems. Microsoft Visio 2003 is also effected.
More Information:
These are serious issues with Windows and Visio so you should apply all updates that affect your specific software or version of Windows. Some of these issues are categorized as Important and some others are listed as Critical.
In most cases, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the above Windows operating systems and software programs are affected.
Some updates will require that you restart your computer but some will not. If you use Windows Update to install these updates simultaneously, chances are you will need to restart.
